Cousins Struggle Against Obstacles to Embrace Adulthood
TEMPE, ARIZONA: Throughout their childhood the three cousins, Isaiah, Kyle, and Jennifer, laughed together, played pranks, and generally caused chaos in the family. As adulthood rapidly approaches, each must learn how to give up childish ways.
Isaiah, the oldest son of Chris Adams, has quietly rebelled for years against his father’s ideals. Chris hopes that his first-born son will travel the world “to spread the word of God.” Isaiah’s main interests are in history and anthropology, not the Bible and he refuses to give in to his father’s demands. Their unspoken conflict erupts into a bitter war of faith and will.
For Brad Adam’s son, Kyle, the car accident changed everything. Once a star athlete, Kyle has always been popular and self-assured. Now he is disabled and alone. He yearns for acceptance and the opportunity to prove himself. Through self-determination and the encouragement of a special friend, Kyle strives for another chance at life.
Jennifer Adams, Joshua’s daughter, was ambitious and strong-willed. Then she met and married Nuruddin. Her husband and their infant son become the center of her universe. But unexpected events complicate her life. When cultural clashes threaten her marriage, Jennifer is challenged to make her own way in the world.
In Ripples, the fourth book of the Echoes Series, these three children of Brad, Chris, and Joshua learn how to overcome obstacles and endure hardships in the transition from youth to adulthood.
